Each year InnovationRCA provides patent help to protect and commercialise a small number of exceptional products or technical developments designed by RCA students and graduates. Selection is focused on projects with market potential which demonstrate technical and creative flair and on applicants with a willingness to learn commercial skills and staying power.

After patent applications have been filed candidates are assisted in the commercialisation process which is often but not always through licensing.
