Foldable Wheelchair Wheels selected as one of 10 Designs For 2010

The Crossbreed wheels are full-sized wheels for a manual wheelchair which can fold away into a small and convenient package for transport or storage.

Originally designed to open up new areas of design in the cycle industry, the wheels have received an incredible response from the wheelchair using community. Duncan is working with InnovationRCA to develop foldable wheelchair wheels that can be tested and demonstrated on wheelchairs.

The foldable wheels feature in the January issue of Wallpaper Magazine alongside the nine other selected designs and businesses, including Nokia's new mobile payment system and the Microsoft worldwide telescope. The 10 Designs for 2010 were selected by Wolff Olins and Wallpaper* to illustrate the 'key trends and changes for the year ahead.'

Duncan hopes to have a pair of the wheels in use on a wheelchair by February 2010.
