The Royal College of Art, the only wholly postgraduate art and design college in the world, has a rich history of innovation: many products now in everyday use started as RCA graduate projects and many RCA graduates have emerged as leading innovators in their field.
Sixty seven per cent of the College's student body is engaged in design, architecture and visual communication disciplines; 20 per cent in fine art; 13 per cent in humanities.
InnovationRCA provides business support and incubation services to students and graduates to help them protect and commercialise pioneering design-led technologies successfully. It delivers knowledge transfer and exchange programmes - from helping students integrate business and employability skills with creative practice, to catalysing innovation through interdisciplinary projects.
InnovationRCA was set up to strengthen the culture of design innovation and entrepreneurialism at the College.
We provide incubation services to design-led ventures with compelling ideas to enable them to rapidly generate technological, market or commercial proof of concept and transform into profitable and investable businesses.
We manage a portfolio of Intellectual Property expertly developed from innovations created within the RCA that can be licensed to industry and commercially exploited in other ways.
We provide a rich programme of professional development support to RCA students and graduates to better prepare them for successful careers.
