Rosen Bulb

The Rosen bulb is a stackable compact fluorescent bulb. It is in the shape of a cube with a cavity in its underside to accommodate the plug end of an adjacent Rosen Bulb for compact economic storage and transport.

Developed by Emil Rosen graduate of the School of Design at the University of Kalmar and current MA student in the Design Products Department of the Royal College of Art, the Rosen Bulb not only refreshes the appearance of our most fundamental element of lighting but also provides the opportunity to reduce transportation costs through its space saving properties.

Two stacked Rosen bulbs would occupy less space than one Edison light bulb during packaging and shipping.

The Rosen bulb is a Royal College of Art Selected Work and the design has been registered. Emil is currently developing the product further and also exploring the incorporation of LED technology and we are interested in hearing from potential licensees or collaborators.

The design is covered by European Community Design Application Number is 001165674-0001 .
