Application Guidelines

The College's Selected Works helps RCA students, graduates and staff to commercially exploit their projects.

Under the Programme, the College covers the costs of legal fees arising from the protection of work, it may employ the designer on a part-time basis, and will assist in finding suitable commercial partners. Any profit arising from the commercial exploitation of the project will be shared between the designer and the College.

Eligibility

  • The project must be clearly patentable or design registerable: commercial; inventive (in this case you should not have discussed your project with anyone outside of the College)

and

  • Open only to registered students, graduates or staff members of the RCA
  • Student or staff members must have the Head of Department's agreement
  • They must have a clear vision as to how their work can be exploited and developed and the enthusiasm and drive to pursue this
  • They must have knowledge of the relevant market/s for the project
