Secondment into Knowledge

Secondment Into Knowledge is a knowledge transfer programme funded by the London Development Agency that enables small firms based in London to work with design experts and academics at the Royal College of Art on innovation projects.

In the 2007/8, InnovationRCA organised the following Secondment Into Knowledge projects:

Capoco Design, an automotive design consultancy, worked with several departments of the RCA, including Vehicle Design, Textiles, Rapidform RCA and the Helen Hamlyn Centre, to update its knowledge of colour, trim, rapid prototyping and inclusive design in relation to its Mobilicity transport system.

Sprout Design, a consultancy working in inclusive and sustainable design, worked with several departments of the RCA, including Industrial Design Engineering, Computing Services, Design London and the Helen Hamlyn Centre, to develop an on-line assessment tool that companies can use for benchmarking and improving packaging and product designs.
